Spiced Peaches Recipe
Yield: 4 Servings

 

 

Ingredients

 

4 pounds peaches
1 cup vinegar
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
1 Tablespoon cloves

3 pounds brown sugar

1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon Cayenne pepper

 

Procedure

 

Boil sugar and vinegar

Scald peaches in boiling water

Remove skins and cook in sugar and vinegar mixture

Tie spices in cheesecloth bag and cook with peaches

When peaches are tender, pour into stone jars

Reheat syrup every day to a boil for a week
