Icons
The
primary icon I used with each unit is relevant to the story. The linked icons
have instructions directing you to click on the icon to navigate. At times I
used the icon as an image only and did not include navigation instructions.

incorporated and apple icon as an apple is what piqued Jonas's curiosity
and caused him to break a rule in his Community.

For Holes I
used the shovel icon as this story is about digging holes to build a boy's
character.

In the book Transall
Saga, Mark is transported to another world by a by coming in
contact with a strange and elusive blue light.

Chess plays in integral part in The Westing Game and I choose chess pieces as
the icon for this book

How to Link to Each Unit Plan
To
navigate to the individual unit plans, instructions on the Home Page specify
whether to click on the image icons or the text links to navigate to the unit
plans. Again I used the same icons as described in the above section on
Icons. Also, all of the main pages have a buttons on the left hand side that
allow you to navigate the site. On the home page, instructions specify to
click on the book images or text links to navigate to the individual unit
plans.
All
of the pages included in the site allow you to navigate and not to stagnate!

How to Link to Student Worksheets
I
have included a Student Worksheet Index for each individual novel
that will enable you to link to the worksheets for each section of
chapters. There are instructions on this index that will inform you
how to reach the worksheets. Each worksheet contains the vocabulary
and the discussion questions for each section of chapters. By
introducing vocabulary with each section of chapters, students will
be given the opportunity to actively participate in Language Arts
activities. All
worksheets are reproducible and also may be copied to Microsoft Word
for any alterations you wish to make.

How to Link to Student Quizzes
This
section is organized in the same manner as the student worksheet section.
Again I have provided an index for each novel with instructions that will
enable you to navigate to each section of quizzes. Each quiz contains a
section on vocabulary usage and a section where the students may demonstrate
their written expression skills. All quizzes are reproducible and also may be
copied to Microsoft Word for any alterations you wish to make.

As
with the worksheet and quiz sections I have provided an Answer Key Index with
instructions so you may navigate to the answer keys. Each answer key section
includes the answers for both the worksheet and the quiz pertaining to that
chapter section. All answer keys are reproducible.

How to Link to Student Activities
I
have included activities for each novel that are merely suggestions. I am
sure that as you preview each novel and read each with your students, you and
your students will have suggestions for other activities. As with the above
section, an index with instructions is provided for each novel that will
enable you to link to the activities as well as to the appropropriate activity
rubric (provided there is one). All activities are reproducible and also may
be copied to Microsoft Word for any alterations you wish to make.
