The Ross Media Center, located on the first floor of the William H. Ross III Intermediate School, is home to over 6000 "awesome" items.  A full service library, the RMC tends to approximately 200 students and 25 faculty members.  Students will find a great selection of fiction titles along with many favorite authors and popular series.  Our nonfiction collection is comprehensive with four sets of current encyclopedias, almanacs, dictionaries, thesauri, and six new full scale globes graciously donated by the Home and School Association.

Additionally, the Ross Media Center houses 7 fully networked Personal Computers loaded with an assortment of software programs.  Students can easily access online the Libarary Catalog, an elementary version of Encarta Encyclopedia and World Book Online, and the Accelerated Reader Quiz program.  Our Microsoft Office package enables students to learn wordprocessing, publishing, and how to create colorful slide presentations.  Internet access, although strongly encourgaged, is strictly guided and filtered according to the conditions outlined in our district's Acceptable Use Policy.  Students can also enjoy school and remote access to subscriptions databases such as Study Island an interactive standardized test preparation website and My Access!  a fifth grade online authoring site.

Extras at the Ross Media Center include numerous age appropriate periodical holdings such as "National Geographic Kids" and "National Geographic Explorers," "Time for Kids", "Ranger Rick," "Cobblestone," "Kids Discover," and "Sports Illustrated Kids."  We have several audio books and a small in house video collection.  The Ross Media Center also enjoys unlimited access to the Atlantic County Audio Visual Association, which houses over 15,000 videos, CD-ROMS, and special library collections.  In addition, the AVA subscribes on our behalf to digital streaming services through United Streaming.  The highly anticipated Scholastic Book Fairs sponsored by the Home and School Association are held twice a year and are extremely popular with students, parents, and staff.

For Administration, Faculty, Parents, and members of our community, the Ross Media Center maintains a Professional Library.  Periodical holdings include "Educational Leadership," the "Master Teacher," "School Library Journal," "Booklinks," "Instructor," "Mailbox," and "Classroom Connect."  An assortment of textbooks, vendors' catalogs, and access to an Accu-Cut die-cut machine with over 50 die-cut shapes are also key components of this popular section of the Ross Media Center.
