Who
am I?

My name is Mrs. Luann Amodeo
and I am pleased to be the Librarian at the Ross Media Center in Margate City,
New Jersey. I began my career in the Margate School District in 1992
as the Assistant Librarian in the Eugene A. Tighe School. Continuing with
my education, I graduated in 2001 Cum Laude from the Richard Stockton College
of New Jersey and in 2007 from New Jersey City University with a Masters in
Educational Media. I am a NJ certified teacher and Media Specialist.
My library experience also includes six years as the Assistant Librarian
for the Linwood Public Library and one semester as an Intern at the Stockton
College Library where I also served as the student liason to the college's
Library Board. Professionally I serve on several boards including the
Atlantic County Library Commission, the Margate School District Curriculum
Council, the Margate School Professional Development Committee, and the Special
Education Advisory Committee.
Born
and raised in Margate, I am married 35 years to my dear friend and old Margate
neighbor, John F. Amodeo. We are happy to have raised two children;
John Charles, Consultant of Information Technology for Rutgers University
in New Brunswick and Amy Dee, Teacher of the Handicapped for the Belhaven
Avenue School in Linwood, New Jersey. Father, son, and daughter have
all proudly manned the Huntington Avenue beach stretch for the Margate City
Beach Patrol and are still very active in the MCBP Alumni Association.
In my spare time I
enjoy traveling, cooking, and sitting on the Huntington Avenue beach READING!!!
My motto in the Ross Media Center is widely embraced by my students.
