MIDDLE SCHOOL SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER

The Margate City School District is anticipating an opening for a full time Middle School Social Studies Teacher with a possible start date of on or about May 1, 2026.

NJ Department of Education Certification Required

  • Middle School with Subject Matter Specialization: Social Studies or
  • Teacher of Social Studies (K-12)
  • NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certification or Teacher of the Handicapped Certification (preferred)

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of subject specialty and effective teaching methods
  • Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effectively communicates and understands job instructions both verbally and written 
  • Willingness to work with students across multiple grade levels
  • Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

LUCKY KIDS AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM 

The Lucky Kids after-school latchkey program held at Ross School is looking for caring individuals who wish to work as aides with our Lucky Kids students in grades K-4.

Job and Program Description:

  • The program runs daily each school day from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm at the Ross School.
  • Support Staff assist with the supervision of children attending the program.  They work under the guidance of our Lucky Kids Director.
  • Staff will be scheduled on an "as needed" basis (does not have to be daily).
  • Applicants must be at least 17 years old.
  • Experience with young children is preferred, but not required.
  • Staff should be prepared to handle the physical demands of the position, as they actively supervise and interact with the children in the school and on the playground.

Salary is hourly -  $20.00 per hour

 Qualifications: 

 Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with no serious violations
  • CDL License with Passenger Endorsement (“P”) and School Bus Driver Endorsement (“S”) required
  • Must exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate professionally with students, staff, administration, parents and the community
