Margate Green Team


In coordination with Sustainable Margate, the Margate City Public Schools is a registered participant in the Sustainable Jersey for Schools certification program. This program advances sustainable practices in schools that result in a healthier school climate, conserves resources, and prepares the next generation  to address sustainability issues. The District Green Team is made up of a group of educators committed to building a greener school community through the implementation of actions and conservation efforts to encourage environmental stewardship and reduce our ecological footprint.

Sustainable Links

Surfriders Youth Leadership Program

Tighe School has established an environmental club within the Surfrider Foundation Youth Leadership program. This student driven club will engage students in environmental stewardship projects in their school and community. 

Sustainable Jersey Schools

Sustainable Jersey for Schools is a certification program for New Jersey public schools that want to go green, conserve resources and take steps to create a brighter future, one school at a time.

Sustainable Margate

Sustainable Margate is the core of our City's Green Team. Comprised of both City Employees and local volunteers, the Sustainable Margate Board is charged with the responsibility to "Go Green", "Save Money", and Sustain the quality of life in Margate for the long term".
