Instructional Technology

Technology

Margate Schools utilize a variety of technology to supplement the curriculum and to enhance student learning.  Our goal is to assist students as they develop technological literacy as 21st Century learners.

Each school is outfitted with a dedicated computer lab and a set of Media Center computers. With the district 1:1 device initiative, each student is issued a chromebook where they engage in online programs, research, assessments, and Google Apps for Education to create and collaborate on documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.

All students have digital access to their curricular programs for ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies. In additon, students may access a number of web-based software programs for reinforcement or enrichment on their own, or as directed by their teachers. For links to some of these programs, please visit the Student Online Resources for Ross School or Tighe School.

Instruction engages students in a variety of learning experiences using technology. Both the delivery of instruction and direct student engagement with technology or technological thinking may include, but is not limited to:

  • Use of 1:1 Chromebooks/Ipads for web-based learning and productivity
  • Interactive Smartboard lessons
  • Instructional use of document camera
  • Engagement with audio/visual presentations
